RESIDENTS of an estate in an area known as The Blue have turned it red and white after smothering the outside of their homes in St George’s flags for the World Cup.

People living on the Kirby estate near The Blue market square in Bermondsey, south-east London, have shown their patriotic support for Roy Hodgson’s team.

Every outside balcony facing onto the streets has a St George’s flag or a Union one displayed outside it.

There is also England bunting bearing the red and white colours tied up around outside walls of the flats on the estate.
