Bluegrass hey? I must admit it’s not a genre that exactly fills my play lists. Having listened to this cover though I am considering re-jigging my feelings towards it.

Th following cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman was recorded by bluegrass heavy weights Iron Horse a good while back but it’s been shooting hard across the Youtube rainbow this last few days. Don’t spit on me, but I was never that into Metallica so I think I actually prefer this version tbh.

Iron Horse have been in existence since the 70’s (with some line up changes along the way of course) which might explain why their fingers are as slick as a wizard’s. If you’re digging their vibes they’re playing at Cosmic Charlie’s in Lexington, Kentucky on the 14th September, get yourself along.

Iron Horse recorded a whole tribute album called The Bluegrass Tribute to Metallica – Fade to Bluegrass. They’ve also completed tribute albums to Ozzy, Led Zeppelin, The Goo Goo Dolls and Black Label Society among others. They been busy. Nice one lads. Here’s another track off the album, Wherever I May Roam…..
