There’s nothing that isn’t great about this clip. Daddy Freddy, a Jamaican ragga vocalist, gets himself on Record Breakers and shows the world how you blast out the most syllables in one minute flat. Does he succeed in breaking his own record? Well, you’ll have to watch it and find out. That’s all part of the wonderful yet unrelenting tension the show created.
Record Breakers was one of my favourite shows as a kid, I think everyone loved it. Random semi-sports and the most pleasant TV presenters known to man. This clip just rams those positive emotions home for me. The programme was a classic. Roy Castle RIP.

Daddy Freddy‘s music inspired a generation. Artists including Dr. Dre, Cypress Hill, David Morales and Norman Cook all requested collaborations. The Prodigy, Me’lissa Morgan, Salt ‘n’ Pepa and KRS-One sampled his unique voice. Impressive accolades.
His party hard touring lifestyle took its toll and after a few years in the biz he went back to Jamaica to “find his roots”.
