RASHAD ALAKBAROV - Atlas

Rashad Alakbarov hails from Azerbaijan, a country which I know embarrassingly little about. His installations at first glance just look like dangling piles of whatever, but when the light hits them just right, well that’s a different story.

Alakbarov’s works sit in galleries in his home country, Turkey, Russia and Italy. He is an able painter and sculptor, but it is his shadow based installations that have recently grown some attention. It’s a bit different, in a world full of the same.
