Moody Images From Ukrainian Village

These photos, by photographer Alexander Mihailenko, feature a small rural town in Ukraine near Kiev. They get the medieval vibes across good and proper. Some might argue that they’re slightly over processed, but I couldn’t possibly comment because if I had anything to do with the photo editing there would be lasers flying out from the thatch and neon monsters belching fire.

I don’t know the name of the village or whether anyone still lives there (it doesn’t look like it), but I like the moodiness. Sometimes I daydream about living in medieval times, for a moment or two, I reckon it would be pretty cool. But then I remember the disease, the fear, the crushing cold and unending violence and I get back on with Angry Birds.
