Burst Water Main In Dudinka Ruins Resident’s Lives

The town of Dudinka, Russia recently had a pretty major burst water pipe during a cold snap. The leak was left unattended, which I suppose is fair enough, you don’t want a total soaking when it’s freezing. But it seems it was left a little too long.

The frozen carnage that the burst pipe left behind is quite incredible. Some Dudinka residents aren’t going to be able to get their cars free until the summer I don’t think. In some places the snow still lies on the ground in June. They might have a long wait.

As an added bonus for the people of Dudinka, the pipes involved in the burstage were essential for the heating. So their car is out of action and their flat is freezing. Brilliant. At least they’ve got Christmas out of the way.
